Good to know

  • A mix, not a set breed: a cross of the Yorkshire Terrier and the Toy or Miniature Poodle, so looks, coat and temperament vary with the parents.
  • Coat varies: it can be silky, wavy or curly, and low shedding isn't guaranteed; most need regular brushing and trims.
  • Small but spirited: the Yorkie side can bring terrier confidence and a tendency to bark at noises and visitors.
  • Bright learners: both parents are clever, so short, positive training sessions and puzzle toys help keep them busy.
  • A low-shedding coat. Some people with allergies find that easier to live with, but no breed is allergen-free.
  • A designer breed, from crossing two purebred parents, so size, coat and temperament vary more than in a purebred.

Getting out with a Yorkipoo

Daily walks and some play keep them content. A mix of park time and easy trails suits them.
