Good to know
- A mix, not a breed: the Poochon is a Bichon Frise and Poodle cross and isn't recognized by the AKC, so traits vary from dog to dog.
- Grooming is a commitment: both parents have coats that need frequent brushing and regular clipping to prevent mats.
- No guarantee for allergies: both parents shed little, but no dog is completely hypoallergenic.
- A low-shedding coat. Some people with allergies find that easier to live with, but no breed is allergen-free.
- A designer breed, from crossing two purebred parents, so size, coat and temperament vary more than in a purebred.
Getting out with a Poochon
Daily walks and some play keep them content. A mix of park time and easy trails suits them.
