Good to know

• The name is the job: bred to find game birds and freeze in a classic "point" to show the hunter where they are.
• Hunt-all-day stamina: they need lots of daily exercise, ideally including a chance to run full out in a securely fenced area.
• Easy coat: the short, glossy coat only needs a weekly brushing.
• Even-tempered and trainable: they are usually good-natured and do well in field events, obedience, agility and tracking.

Getting out with a Pointer

Bred to keep going: they need plenty of exercise every day, like long trail walks, hikes and off-leash play where it's allowed.
