A guide for a healthy adult. Puppies, older dogs and flat-faced breeds in the heat need less.
Good to know
- Born guardian: bred in Hungary to protect livestock, they are loyal and protective and naturally suspicious of strangers.
- Independent mind: they were bred to work without direction, so training takes patience, consistency and early socialization.
- White double coat: the coat sheds a lot, especially seasonally, and needs regular brushing.
- Needs space and a job: they do best with a secure, fenced area to patrol and plenty of daily exercise.
Getting out with a Kuvasz
Daily walks and some play keep them content. A mix of park time and easy trails suits them.
