Good to know

  • A Czech original: developed in the mid-1900s by crossing Sealyham and Scottish Terriers to create a hunting terrier that could work in dens.
  • Calmer than most terriers: still brave and tenacious at work, but generally more laid-back and easier to handle than the typical terrier.
  • Clipped, not stripped: unlike most terriers, the soft, wavy coat is clipped on the body while the beard, eyebrows and leg and belly furnishings are left long and brushed often.
  • Family-friendly walker: an adventurous playmate for kids and a keen walking companion who is content indoors after daily exercise.
  • A low-shedding coat. Some people with allergies find that easier to live with, but no breed is allergen-free.

Getting out with a Cesky Terrier

Daily walks and some play keep them content. A mix of park time and easy trails suits them.
