Good to know
- Homestead guardian: developed in South Africa to protect farms from predators, they are confident, watchful guardians of their home and family.
- Not for beginners: they are dominant and powerful, so they need an experienced owner, early socialization and consistent training from puppyhood.
- Bright and willing: they are intelligent and eager to learn when training is clear and consistent.
- Easy coat: the short, dense coat needs only occasional brushing.
Getting out with a Boerboel
Daily walks and some play keep them content. A mix of park time and easy trails suits them.
